My kid’s are persistent….all three of them. And sometimes all three of them can be persistent at the same time, and well that can be very overwhelming to me. I am often annoyed and short-tempered with them when they just don’t quit. Sometimes I give in because their persistence is……well….so persistent that it just breaks down my “NO” wall.
God has recently reminded me that as persistent as my boys can be is how persistent I should be in my prayers to him. I don’t always pray boldly with a steadfastness. The widow in Luke 18 would not leave the judge alone, she wanted justice and she kept asking and asking and asking and asking. Finally the judge was bothered and granted her justice for no other reason except for her persistence. “And the Lord said, ‘Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice and quickly.’”
Through our persistence in prayer God takes back from the evil one what is rightfully His.
Here’s hoping my kid’s persistence will be a continual reminder of how I should boldly petition Our God.

wow tara that really hit home with me. thanks for sharing.
