Is is so refreshing when one of these pops into the week. It’s probably been one of the best days I’ve had in this country. I talked to five different people today….all in spanish, the length in time ranged from a half hour to 2 hours. Right now I am not exhausted and I haven’t cried today….that is a really good day.
This morning I went to the park with the boys. I met two new people, not regulars, at least not regulars of the two hours we are there in the morning. As soon as we walked up to the playground a lady walked up to me to tell me her grandson (Jacob…3 years old in two days) is from Florida and speaks English. So I talked to her in Spanish and talked to Jacob is English. Elijah had a blast with Jacob….maybe we’ll see him again tomorrow. A little after Jacob left, another lady started talking to me and told me here husband is from the states and she knows some English. We talked for about an hour all in Spanish. She lives right across the street from the park and told me to stop by anytime if we need anything while at the park. (That may be a great bathroom spot because Elijah’s still baptizing new trees every few days.) We got home and spent some time talking with Virgina. (For those who don’t know, we have a lady who comes to our house three times a week to clean and cook for us….yeah, your probably thinking …..your a missionary, why do you have a cleaning lady? It’s been so great to free up stress I would have over caring for the home, so I have more time to take care of my kids…..and study. Enough explanations.) I went to school and today I talked about my life with Gabriela, my teacher. Then I got home and Carmen, my tutor, came over. I was going to meet with her the first hour and then Brian was going to meet with her the second hour. Usually the first hour Brian and I do it together and the second he works on Phonetics with her, but he had just returned from his language route and needed some down time, so that’s why he wanted a break the first hour. So Carmen and I practiced different verb conjugations of past, present and commands. The second hour we just talked. (Brian didn’t mind that he got the boot the second hour.) It was really good. She’s a strong believer and it is such a blessing to talk to her. Think about one of those women in your churches who you look up to and admire because of her wisdom and her love for God and her love for her family and her love for other people….Carmen is that lady. I hope someday I’ll be able to express to her the blessing that she is to me.
So….today was a good day.

I’m so happy to hear about the good days both you and Brian have had. It is very cool to see how God is working in your lives.
