So we went to the consulate this morning to give them the “Letter of Invitation” from Argentina. It was only allowed to be opened by the Consulate. She told us before that there was a possibilty that we would need a ‘proof of relationship’ from our organization and have it notarized. We got that done just in case. We did need it and when we gave it to her she noticed it was from Indiana and she said that it would need a Apostille from Indiana…what! At least a 2 week delay flashed before my eyes. She then said that if we could get it notarized there in D.C., the District cold Apostille it. Well, thats what we did. We found a notary, for some reason she notarized it…I really don’t think she was supposed to, but we got it. That notarization allowed us to go get the Apostille from the office of the Secretary of D.C., we returned to the consulate, handed it over and she said we’d have our Visas tomorrow! Tomorrow! What! Wow! So….we are leaving as scheduled on Thursday. We were 90% sure we were going to have to put of our flight till later and so we didn’t really start packing much…we have alot of packing ahead of us in the next day and a half….Stay tuned
