Tara’s Birthday Date
Yesterday I took Tara out for her birthday, her birthday was the 23rd but that was the day the Elledges came in. We went downtown La Plata for a lunch out on the town (The Dunlevy’s an Elledges watched the kids). I told her she could go anywhere she wanted, anywhere…she decided to go to this restaurant called “McDonalds”, ever hear of it
Yea, that McDonalds. Her comment was, “Their burgers here are delicious!”. And this is coming from someone who always avoided going to McDonalds at ALL costs! I couldn’t believe it! She did have a good point though, their burgers here are amazing, much better than in the States.
It’s kinda funny going out to restaurants and trying to order stuff. Whenever we open our mouths it becomes abundantly clear that we are not from around here, so anyone in hearing distance starts staring at you or looking at you from the corner of their eye. It feels….weird. Hopefully our Spanish gets better and our accent starts to blend in a bit more.
After eating we walked around the downtown business district, found a few things we had been looking for…school supplies for Malachi (I can’t believe it) and some kitchen stuff. We found the theater here and found out some information for upcoming concerts and ballets. Tara loves dance so we’re gonna try and see a performance of Swan Lake sometime in the next month.
Here is a picture of Tara in front of the Theater:
And here is a picture of what a Taxi looks like here, thats what we took home:
Happy Birthday Sweety!! I Love You!!
