Hora Feliz – The activities at the “Villa”
We started from the home of Rick and Jill Elledge attracting/inviting everyone to the Hora Feliz which was about a three block walk to the “Villa”.
God is so GOOD! We, as well as many had been praying for a beautiful day, it was beyond beautiful, and children as well as families would venture out to see what was happening.
As we walked to the Villa we passed out candy and encouraged the children and families we met to come to the Hora Feliz.
We were not sure where to set up for the program and were pleased when some of the families guided us to a 30 sq dirt area – their soccer field- to do the presentation.
We were blessed to have a local Argentine couple, Hugo and Luisa, from a BA church. Hugo was a natural magnet drawing the children in for a “simom says” game. Of course the clowns joined in, but never got it right – to the joy of the children.
Hugo got his guitar out and began playing/singing a popular children’s song. Below you can see one of the clowns joining in with his instrument.
Next Hugo did a story from the “wordless” book. This book’s first page was Yellow (Heaven) then Black (evil/sin), Red (blood of Christ) and White (we are cleansed by Christ’s Blood). He did a wonderful job drawing the children in. What a blessing!
One of the older children moved through the children offer them as well as our group a drink of water. When an Argentine offers you a drink it’s a sign of “Welcome”!
Next we blew up balloons and someone made various animal characters which the children enjoyed. We did this until we were out of balloons, but all children got at least one.
