Today we kicked off the Hora Feliz for the team here. It was sooooo fun!!! I finally got to be ‘me’ — dressed funny, walking the streets waving and smiling at strangers, and passing out candy to the kids! The response was tremendous, and we passed out more than 400 suckers, formed more than 300 balloon animals, and danced and played like children! (okay, that doesn’t surprise too many of my family and friends — you’ve been telling me for years that I dressed funny and I needed to grow up!)
The team was blessed all day! The weather was fantastic and the turnout was great. I didn’t count the kids, what I do know is that I truly saw JOY in the faces of these children. Personally, I had a blast! I couldn’t help but think of one of my favorite David Crowder Band songs, which the lyrics are based loosely on 2 Samuel 6:21-23 — “I will celebrate before the LORD. I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes.” As a matter of fact the lyrics ran through my head all day — “I will dance
I will sing, To be mad For my King, Nothing Lord Is hindering This passion in my soul! And I’ll become
Even more undignified than this – Some may say It’s foolishness But I’ll become Even more undignified than this, Leave my pride By my side”
What a glorious day to REJOICE and DANCE and SING for the Lord!!!
