During our training in November and December at Mission Training International, we were taught about living in paradox as we move cross-culturally. Whatever was taught to the adults about living cross-culturally was also taught to the kid’s on their level. They were taught about the “yeah” duck and the “yuck” duck….a pair of ducks. Living in paradox(pair of ducks) has filled my week. I’m thankful to be learning Spanish in beautiful Costa Rica, but I’m so sad to not be in Maryland to meet me new nephew, Orion Connor. My brother, Jason and his wife, Erika had Orion this past Sunday. I would love for my boys to meet their little cousin in person. It’s so wonderful to have skype and at least, sometime soon see the little guy “in person.” I look forward to the day I get to hold him and see my brother and his wife care for their first little guy. I’m not an extremely sentimental person, but becoming a parent has made me a little more sentimental….especially when it comes to kids. All my Maryland friends, give Orion a kiss for me when you see him and tell him how much his Aunt Tara loves him.
